Jody knows running. From the perspective as an individual athlete, the dynamics of a team, to the innovations in the products you wear. Jody has been coaching runners of all abilities for over two decades, collaborating on world record breaking running products, and channeling group energy into something bigger than the individual.

Alongside a small group of passionate athletes within the Portland running community, Jody introduced the Speed Shop training program in 2020, during the height of the Pandemic, when so many were seeking community and an outlet for their athleticism. Today, Speed Shop has over 70 athletes enrolled in multiple training programs, and a vibrant community adding to the energy of our shared love for running.

TRAINING

Phased training schedules that grow with you. Each schedule is different and adapts with our knowledge after each season. We worry about the end result and how to get you there. You just worry about what’s on the schedule for the day.

BETTER
TOGETHER

Doing hard things with other people is where the real magic happens. Our Tuesday workouts at Duniway Track are a key staple of our programs. We have both an AM or PM session, so you can make it work based on YOUR schedule.

Let us help out with those weekend long runs. We’ve got long-runs that include custom routes, coffee shops, and coach-supported food and drinks in and around the Portland area.

INJURY
PREVENTION

With live, virtual circuit training sessions each Monday night, you’ll get the opportunity to work on your strength and flexibility. Combine this with our regular interval training on Tuesdays and you’ll be finding a next level in your running.

This ISN’T the kind of group where you get a training schedule and then head off on your own into the wilderness. Long-term goals find success with adjustments, tweaks, and a healthy dose of camaraderie. As a coach, and as a training group, we are there with you for the workouts that count, and the little questions that come in between.
